This album has endured as classic for over 35 years and with good reason. Don’t stop believing has had constant play on the radio, tv shows and broadway plays, every few years the song pops up again to delight old fans and captivate new ones. To me, this is the quintessential Journey album with the aforementioned hit as well as Stone in Love, Escape, Who’s crying now, Open arms, hit after hit! Embroidering then album was challenging because of those of graphic on the cover. The album features Journeys scarab exploding out of a blue orb, I embroidered the background with abstract stitches in shades of blue and free motion stitching in shades of red and orange for the explosion. I used laser cut appliqués for the orb and fragments. when it came time to create the scarab I decided to embroider it as a patch and then collage the patch onto the album.
