Fragile was Yes’s fourth album after their breakthrough album titled “Yes”. The album features the iconic hits Roundabout and Long Distance Runaround. When this album was released in 1971, progressive rock was very popular and Yes lead the pack. This was the first album featuring art created by Roger Dean who went on to design a lot of their albums and stage sets. The album features a bonsai planet over a blue background with a wooden spaceship flying over it. I wanted to stitch this album in wool thread so I started by stitching the background in 3 shades of blue using swirling abstract stitches. The planet was stitched in dozens of shades of mint, blue and green threads with the rocks and space ship being stitched on top in rayon threads. The logo was stitched as a patch and mounted onto the album as a final step.

The albums take up to 8 hours to embroider and can contain over 200,000 stitches. The series is created and designed to be hung together so you can add to your installation wall as you discover new pieces I create. Each of the albums comes with a signed certificate and is framed in acrylic and measures 12" x 12" x 2".
