How are the gyspy pieces created?

Read about how the gypsy pieces are created

THE GYPSY SERIES

SELECTING MATERIAL

Material is carefully picked for each Gypsy design. Whether blue, pink, or neutral tones, each piece consists of up-cycled material that is deconstructed to create the finished piece.

EMBROIDERY

Through meticulous embroidery, florals, butterflies, and captivating elements emerge. These embroidered elements, first hand-digitized, infuse each Gypsy piece with detail.

EMBELLISHING

Every embroidered element is carefully added and embellished to its piece. This timely process creates mesmerizing depth and uniqueness for each and every design. No two Gypsy pieces will ever be the same.

Every ‘Gypsy’ piece has a few things in common. Whether it is a 5” x 5” petite, 26" x 26" boot, or a 56” x 56” horse, every piece is created using the same technique of collage and assemblage. There are multiple types of elements within each style, the main element being the gypsy flowers. Everything we create in the studio is based on the principal of up-cycling and making sure that nothing goes to waste. Whenever we use a luxury scarf for a larger project, all of the remnants are saved and are turned into our new gypsy flowers or hand rolled pom-pom’s for various pieces. The flowers are created in dozens of sizes and shapes, along with embroidered flowers, lace flowers, patches and of course, butterflies.
