During the 60’s and 70’s Eric Clapton played in multiple bands as well as having a successful solo career. Blind Faith, Cream, Delaney and Bonnie, as well as Derek and the Dominos, to name a few. Derek and the Dominos was one of the first supergroups with Eric Clapton and Duane Allman on guitar and they released one studio album, this one. The cover of the album features a stylized painting of a woman by Emile Theodore Frandsen de Schomberg. The painting was created in an abstract style using a mix of earth tones and pastel colors. To keep the painterly effect, I decided to completely digitize the album using wool threads. I varied the stitch lengths to create more visual tension and used over 50 colors of wool thread to fully embroider the album cover.

The albums take up to 8 hours to embroider and can contain over 200,000 stitches. The series is created and designed to be hung together so you can add to your installation wall as you discover new pieces I create. Each of the albums comes with a signed certificate and is framed in acrylic and measures 12" x 12" x 2".
