The shaped canvas pieces are definitely a departure for me. My pieces have traditionally been mounted on canvases that were created out of luxury packaging and then framed in acrylic. The pieces can then displayed by themselves or in arraignments. For these pieces I wanted to explore the Icons without the size limitations of a framed piece. The pieces start with a shaped canvas that I craft into the shape of the icon or lettering. Then the collage and assemblage begins. The LOVE is created by separately creating hundreds of embroidered elements and then collaging them together to form a multi-layered montage of textures and colors on each letter. There are flowers created with Hermes scarves, lace embroidered flowers as well as embroidered butterflies. The shaped canvas pieces are available in multiple sizes, words, and color variations. Pricing may vary due to the selected word, size, or styles. LOVE as pictured measures 19” x 56” when mounted on the wall.
