Hands down my favorite album, growing up in New Jersey, a few mile away from Bruce’s house he became my idol at an early age. I had every album, I’ve seen him play in local bars like the Stone Pony in Asbury Park and I’ve probably seen him play live over 25 times. His music has been there during every step in my life from a young teenager to a father of two children. Born to Run was released in 1975 and while I was too young to hear it when it first came out I bought it after I heard Hungry Heart from the River and I still listen to it quite often. I created two versions of the album a single and double version. Both versions feature a floral embroidered background, I chose flowers to add softness to the gritty themes of the album. The flowers change color as the pass over the iconic photo of Bruce and Clarence. I added the song titles as embroidered patches as well as embroidered butterflies to the double album version. Bruces songs are often about hope, change and redemption so I felt that the butterflies were a perfect addition to the piece.
