During the 60’s and 70’s Eric Clapton played in multiple bands as well as having a successful solo career. Blind Faith, Cream, Delaney and Bonnie, as well as Derek and the Dominos, to name a few. Derek and the Dominos was one of the first supergroups with Eric Clapton and Duane Allman on guitar and they released one studio album, this one. The cover of the album features a stylized painting of a woman by Emile Theodore Frandsen de Schomberg. The painting was created in an abstract style using a mix of earth tones and pastel colors. To keep the painterly effect, I decided to completely digitize the album using wool threads stitched. I varied the stitch lengths to create more visual tension and used over 50 colors of wool thread to fully embroider the album cover.
